The average person’s garage is an absolute mess. If you are the average person, chances are that your garage is not organized and is a mess too. Luckily, there are many ways in which you can create organized storage space in your garage without much of a hassle. You can quickly be on your way to creating the space you need in order to store all the items you need to store in your garage. If you cannot find the boxes of tools you have been meaning to store or even your children’s bikes, it is time you take the time to organize your garage.

Many people find that creating storage space is easy when installing peg boards on the garage walls. You can hang tools and other miscellaneous items you want off the floor. Peg boards are relatively cheap and can store many, many items depending on the size of the items you are storing. Plus, you can organize the items to look nice and neat for visual appeal. When you need a certain tool, such as a hammer or wrench, you can easily find it and when you are done you can hang it back up where it has a place.

Hooks are a great way to add storage space as well. You can store small and large items you want to keep off the ground, such as bikes, small surf boards, snowboards, skates, and more. Keeping large items off the ground if possible, is a great way to create more space. Many people do not take the time to consider all of the items they can hang from the wall or the ceiling. Large items such as bikes can easily be hung from the wall or ceiling and are out of your way, creating more floor space.

Shelves are easy and cheap to install to create the ideal storage space. Often times, the best way to create more space to store items is to sort through the items you can store on the wall or ceiling and off of the floor. There are just some items that cannot be stored anywhere but the floor. Utilize shelves to store small and large items, such as paint cans, car accessories, miscellaneous tools, and so on. You can choose the right shelf dimensions and finish that suit your garage for a flawless finish that looks great. Creating space does not have to be ugly or expensive.

Creating storage space in your garage can take some time depending on the route you choose to take. Installing hooks, peg boards, and shelves are cheap, fast, and simple. Create as much floor space as possible by hanging items that you can from the walls and ceiling. You may be surprised how much space you create by simply hanging large items and even small items from shelves or hooks. When you have a lot of stuff, organization is the key. Find those tools and hang them from a peg boards and hang your kids’ bikes to maximize storage and space.
